Mindbuilt ECS is built upon the principal of **Host Anywhere,
Access Anywhere**. ECS is open standards based and it is
very easy to download and install. No matter which operating
system you have, if it is capable of running PHP and MySQL
you should be able to run ECS. The accompanying installer
is configured to run only on Windows operating system. To
make it run on other operating systems simply do a custom
install, unpack the application files to a folder and copy
those files to a directory on your web server (running PHP).
You must also create the database in your MySQL server and
login at the given website address.
You don't need to install anything on the clients’ machines.
Just Login to the website address where ECS is installed
and you're ready to go.

Mindbuilt ECS Server Manually
a. A Server OS:
A server Operating System such as Windows, Linux, Sun Solaris, FreeBSD etc.,
which has TCP/IP networking enabled and running PHP and MySQL. It should also
have a static IP address. (Although Mindbuilt E-CS has been known to run on
a shared IP address but this configuration is not officially supported by Mindbuilt
as there can be many unforseen problems)
b. Web Server
Mindbuilt ECS has been tested on:
Windows: IIS 6.0,
Apache 1.3.2.
Linux: Apache 1.3.2.
c. Client PCs:
There is nothing to be installed on client pcs. They only
need to run web browsers, such as Internet Explorer 6.0
and above. Netscape Navigator 7 and above, Mozilla 1.2.X
and above are also known to work with ECS (with some minor
considerations) but are not officially supported at this
time.
You can use Mindbuiilt ECS in an environment where different
operating systems like Windows, Mac OS, UNIX and FreeBSD
co-exist.
Server Hardware Requirements
The following are the mininum requirements to run Mindbuilt
ECS:
CPU: Intel Pentium 150 MHz or faster
Memory: 64 M byte or more
Hard Disk: 50 M byte or more
For up to 50 users:
Hard Disk: 200 MB free space, IDE (ATA/100).
Memory: 128 MB minimum, 256 MB recommended.
CPU: Pentium compatible 300MHz or faster.
For 50 to 150 Users:
Hard Disk: IDE (ATA/100) minimum, SCSI160 recommended.
Memory: 256 MB minimum, 512 MB recommended.
CPU: Pentium compatible 500MHz or faster.
For 150 - 300 users (or more):
Hard Disk: SCSI160 RAID5 recommended.
Memory: 512 MB minimum,768 MB or more recommended.
CPU: Pentium compatible 1GHz or more.
